Service Description

Leading Pairs is a facilitated three-part virtual workshop series for nonprofit Board Chair–Executive Director pairs who want to strengthen how they lead together. While these roles are deeply interdependent, there are very few opportunities for chairs and chief executives to have intentional, facilitated time to work on their partnership, the most impactful leadership relationship in the organization. Most are expected to align through experience, instinct, or trial and error. This workshop creates that space, grounded in governance research and real world leadership practice. The sessions are led by two facilitators who bring deep governance expertise and lived experience as a Board Chair–Executive Director pair. They understand both the structure required for effective governance and the relational dynamics that make it work in practice. Over three sessions, you will: • Clarify roles, boundaries, and shared accountability • Strengthen trust, communication, and decision making • Work through real challenges as a united leadership pair • Translate insight into action with a focused 90 day plan This is not abstract training. You will work collaboratively on real world issues you are facing, as well as in peer cohorts with fellow Board Chairs and Executive Directors. You will leave with practical tools, shared language, and concrete agreements you can apply immediately. Participation by both the Board Chair and Executive Director is required. Registration covers one organization and one leadership pair.
