WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Michelle Canale

Board Chair,

FL Assoc. of Nurse Anesthesiology

“Fine Point Consultants exceeded my high expectations in helping our Board achieve a structured strategic plan. Courtney and team really understood and met the needs of our Association. A fellow board member shared that out of three strategic planning sessions he's participated in with our association over the years, this was by far the best. Grateful for their guidance and help in moving us forward!"

Theresa Grant-Narasimhan
Executive Director,
Make A Difference Now

“If you're a visionary leader like myself, the big picture may come easier than the smaller picture - this is where Courtney works her magic. As a mentor, she is able to help leaders break down the details and communication styles to build teams and processes to get where you want and need to go. And the beauty is, she actually loves the details. She finds joy in reducing workloads and keeping staff and boards involved. She also has a great sense of humor and is enjoyable to work with."

Sandy Danielson
Executive Director,
Artists In Middleburg

"Courtney is a professional who knows her subject backward and forward. She is organized, well-spoken, and presents herself and her materials beautifully. I highly recommend her for any nonprofit organizational assessment needs. Working with her on governance, strategic planning, and executive mentoring has been invaluable experience for the organization and for me, professionally."

MEET COURTNEY

I've been in your seat - as an executive director and as a board officer - which means I understand nonprofit governance from both sides of the table.

I know what it feels like to lead with a board that’s overly cautious, to navigate a leadership transition moving faster than the organization can absorb, or to inherit governance structures that were never designed for the complexity you’re facing now.

That practitioner experience shapes everything I do. I don’t lead solely from theory or templates. I work from the inside out - bringing clarity to how boards and executives work together so governance and leadership reinforce rather than compete with one another.

My work sits at the intersection of governance, strategy, and leadership during moments of growth, transition, or pressure. Over more than two decades in direct service, policy, and executive leadership roles in the US and globally, I’ve supported organizations in education and youth development, refugee services, and historically underserved communities as they strengthened structure without losing soul.

Clients value my ability to bring strategic calm - to name what’s actually happening, align boards and executives around shared accountability, and design governance that supports good judgment rather than slows it down.

I hold degrees from Boston University and Harvard University and have been recognized by BoardSource, ASAE, and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement for my leadership and governance work.

Today, through Fine Point Consultants, I work with nonprofit leaders across the country - and I’m proud to call Miami home.
